The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Toehold shoots in looking for a takedown but Curls manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Toehold's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Curls tries to counter with a clinch but Toehold shakes him off and moves away. Curls shoots in and gets a takedown into Toehold's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Toehold (0) vs (2) Curls Curls has gone for a leg lock! Toehold slips out almost immediately though and dives into Curls's guard. Curls might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Toehold haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Curls wants to sweep here but Toehold controlling him for the moment. Toehold controls from within his opponent's guard.

I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
