Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lou Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Rumble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luiz Rumble is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luiz Rumble!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rumble chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Carter rushes Rumble and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rumble is trying to break the clinch but Carter has him pressed against the cage.
Carter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rumble prevents it.
Carter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rumble is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Carter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rumble connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Rumble has a takedown stuffed.
Carter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rumble circles away quickly and effectively.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Carter lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Luiz Rumble has been cut.
Rumble lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Rumble is looking to clinch.
Rumble circles away from the clinch attempt.
A nice combination there by Rumble.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Carter is breathing heavily.

Rumble looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Carter!
Rumble looking to control but Carter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Carter really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Carter is working hard here to advance position.
Rumble controlling his opponent.
Carter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carter tries to get out of the position.
Carter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rumble content just to control the position here.
Rumble tries to control but Carter wriggling away.
Carter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Carter is desperately trying to improve his position but Rumble has a good base and remains in mount.
Rumble trying to control but Carter is having none of it.

Carter really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Rumble looking to control but Carter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Carter wants to hold on but Rumble pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rumble can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carter is looking to escape.
Carter is wriggling around trying to escape.

Carter somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Carter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rumble fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lou Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rumble on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
You can see the frustration on Rumble's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Carter content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Carter moves into full mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Carter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Carter is landing with some decent strikes but Rumble is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Carter jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rumble manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carter tries to advance to mount but Rumble denies him.
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rumble keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Rumble's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rumble pushes Carter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Carter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Carter gets a takedown into half guard.
Carter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Carter passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rumble!
Rumble working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carter controlling his opponent.
Carter won't let Rumble get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Rumble is desperately trying to improve his position but Carter has a good base and remains in mount.
Carter landing strikes from the mount and Rumble is in trouble!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carter controlling from mount.
Rumble tries to hold on but Carter pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lou Carter dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Luiz Rumble's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Carter gets a takedown into half guard.
Rumble is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carter's back!
Carter has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Carter manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rumble's guard. Nice work there by Carter.
Carter wants to stand but Rumble is controlling his posture from full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rumble works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rumble wants to stand up but Carter is controlling him.
Carter controlling from the top position.
Rumble is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carter is controlling him.
Carter wants to control from the top but Rumble keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Carter's corner calls for a 1-2. Carter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Carter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Carter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rumble looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rumble is not content to let Carter control the position.

Carter decides to stand back up.
Rumble shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Rumble keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Carter tries a head kick but it misses.
Carter lands with a kick to the temple. Rumble shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rumble with a nice cross.
Carter misses with a combination

and Rumble decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carter's guard.
Rumble tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard.

Rumble tries to stand but Carter is controlling from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carter is on top in guard.
Carter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carter wants to control from the top but Rumble keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rumble's head.
Carter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lou Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lou Carter showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Carter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
