Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, BJ Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, leo snow! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. snow tries to avoid it but Penn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag snow to the ground. snow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. snow looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Penn closes this distance looking for a takedown but snow circles away. Penn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts snow as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Penn scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Penn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Penn is trying to control. snow wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Penn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. snow trying to control but Penn postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so snow is just riding it out for now. Penn eventually gives up the hold. Penn controlling the pace. Penn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Penn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for snow! Penn controlling his opponent. Penn dominating with strikes here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Penn controlling his opponent. Penn with shots to the head and body - snow looks very uncomfortable down there. snow is looking to improve his position but Penn isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Penn jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but snow manages to avoid the submission attempt. Penn taking a breather here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Penn wants to lay and pray for a moment but snow keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
BJ Penn dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Penn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts snow as he jumps to the side. A combination from Penn does no damage. Penn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has snow pinned against the cage. snow gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Penn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Penn is looking to clinch but snow is avoiding it.
Penn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Penn. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Penn closes this distance looking for a takedown but snow circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him. A head kick misses from Penn. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Penn stuffs the takedown. Penn fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. snow manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Penn works his way into full mount! Penn is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. snow can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Penn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Penn lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. snow really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Penn pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Penn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Penn dominating with strikes here. Penn moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, snow has worked his arm free - good work by snow!
Penn taking a breather here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. snow wants to control but Penn postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn trying to control the action but snow is working from the bottom. Penn working the ground and pound from side control. Penn scoring with punches and elbows. Penn is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down snow's shoulder. That is not cool.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Penn has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for snow! snow really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Penn looking to secure an arm triangle but snow defends it well. snow is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
BJ Penn dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Nice uppercut lands for Penn. That snapped snow's head back.
Penn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Penn preventing the sweep. Penn is stalling in the full guard. Penn is in close to snow's body, working some short punches and elbows. snow wants to stand and escape but Penn is having none of it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn tries to free his leg and advance position but snow is retaining full guard. Penn stays in close to snow's body and controls the position. Penn wants to pass the guard but snow is keeping the position. Penn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee stands the fighters back up. BJ Penn just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Penn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. snow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn trying to control the position but snow is working away. snow is trying to control Penn's posture but Penn avoids it. Penn slows the pace down. snow is trying to improve his position. Penn lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn working the ground and pound. snow gets back to half guard. snow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. snow wants to control but Penn is keeping busy and won't allow it. Penn controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. snow wants to improve his position but Penn is controlling well.
Penn is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. snow tries to roll over but Penn keeps him under control. Penn scoring with strikes to the body and head. Penn decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though. leo snow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! BJ Penn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. snow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! BJ Penn showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Penn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
