This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 65 wins and 31 losses; Bogdan Kersikov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 19 losses; Gaston Juncker!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Kersikov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Juncker has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
No luck for Kersikov with that takedown attempt.
Kersikov shoots in looking for a takedown. Juncker tries to sprawl out of it but Kersikov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Juncker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've been hearing good reports from Kersikov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Kersikov has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Juncker's body.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kersikov is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Juncker knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Juncker for a finish.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kersikov just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Kersikov has the hooks in. Juncker is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Juncker tries to roll but Kersikov sticks to his back.
Kersikov slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Juncker is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.
You can see the frustration on Juncker's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
What can Juncker do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
