Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Slaw Spud (ranked 5464 p4p, 3682 weight class) and Lorenzo Smashotti (ranked 489 p4p, 385 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Slaw Spud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lorenzo Smashotti!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smashotti has closed the distance and engaged Spud in a clinch.
Smashotti has Spud pressed against the cage, preventing Spud from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Smashotti keeps control of Spud as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Spud is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Spud is trying to break the clinch but Smashotti has him pressed against the cage.
Smashotti lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Spud or not.
Smashotti breaks the clinch.
Spud slips a jab and a cross from Smashotti.
Spud throws a left and a right that both miss
and Spud takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Slaw Spud has been cut.
Smashotti is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Spud.
Spud looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smashotti moves into the clinch.
Smashotti escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smashotti connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Spud! He's out on his feet! Smashotti rushes in and drops Spud with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lorenzo Smashotti!
Lorenzo Smashotti spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
