Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 23935 p4p, 23883 weight class) and Kulata Bitok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 38 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 42 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kulata Bitok! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Buktot misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bitok.
And Bitok responds with a good body kick, but Buktot manages to step out the way in time. Buktot moves out of range of the body kick. A quick step to the side and Buktot tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Buktot shoots for a double leg takedown but Bitok sprawls well. He's pushed Buktot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Buktot gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bitok to score an easy takedown into full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bitok loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buktot has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Buktot has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Bitok's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Buktot utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Buktot wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bitok. Buktot closes the distance and clinches up with Bitok, looking for a takedown. Buktot pushes Bitok against the cage but Bitok circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bitok avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawindi Buktot. That's going to take a lot out of him. Buktot drives through with a takedown into Bitok's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buktot trying to control but Bitok is working from the bottom. Bitok controlling Buktot's posture. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kulata Bitok will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Buktot stuffs the takedown attempt from Bitok. Bitok gets slowly back to his feet. Bitok tries to score a power double leg takedown but Buktot sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bitok somewhat. Buktot throws a quick counter head kick but Bitok was just out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bitok shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Buktot napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Buktot is trying to control Bitok's posture but Bitok avoids it. Buktot being controlled for a moment. Buktot can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Buktot tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bitok wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bitok is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bitok tries for a takedown but Buktot sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Buktot attempts a counter takedown but Bitok avoids it well and moves away. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kulata Bitok. Bitok leaves Buktot with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bitok closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Buktot did well to prevent Bitok getting side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buktot holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Buktot has a hand on Bitok's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Bitok takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Bitok controlling the pace for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kulata Bitok showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Buktot stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Buktot wants it to stay on the feet. Bitok stuffs the takedown attempt from Buktot. Buktot gets slowly back to his feet. Bitok displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Buktot. Bitok flicks out a counter leg kick but Buktot steps away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buktot stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Buktot wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buktot scores with a takedown into Bitok's guard. Bitok pulls Buktot in to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bitok being controlled here, momentarily. Buktot's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bitok seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Buktot slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bitok holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Buktot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawindi Buktot. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bitok fails with the takedown and Buktot counters with a three punch combo that has Bitok backing up. Bitok nods at Buktot to acknowledge the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buktot shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Bitok desperately trying to maintain half guard. Dawindi Buktot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kulata Bitok is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bitok has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Buktot is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Dawindi Buktot showed his dominance in that final round. I think Bitok has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
