Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 4172 p4p, 4168 weight class) and Bryson Potts (ranked 489 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bryson Potts!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potts dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Jones working a defensive guard here.
Potts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Potts won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Potts throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Potts accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Potts on the ground.

Potts stands up and waves to Jones to follow him.
Jones looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Potts shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Potts seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice strikes from Potts there.
Potts trying to pass the guard but Jones defending well.
Potts sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jones defending well though.
Potts throwing shots but Jones is blocking nicely.
Jones is trying to maintain the position but Potts is very close to passing his half guard.
Potts lands with a punch from half guard.
Potts has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Potts looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Potts looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Jones wants to control but Potts is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Potts is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Potts to get the leverage.
Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Potts with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Potts throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely.
Potts working some strikes from top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to stand and escape but Potts is having none of it.
Potts passes Jones's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Potts postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jones to stand up.

Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Potts looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jones!
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones defending against the ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Potts working the ground and pound.
Jones is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Potts working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jones turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Potts off and cradles Jones's limp body as Potts celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Bryson Potts!
