The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metzelder takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Metzelder scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Barrel drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Metzelder misses with a body shot.
Metzelder walks forward, straight into a front kick from Barrel.
Metzelder is breathing heavily.
Metzelder dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Barrel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Metzelder tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barrel is in Metzelder's guard.
Barrel keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Metzelder's head.
Barrel advances to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barrel is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Barrel landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Barrel sitting in half guard here. He lands a big elbow that has hurt Metzelder! Oh, Metzelder is in big trouble! Barrel lands more strikes and the ref dives in to save him! The fight is over!
