The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been told by Carioni's head coaches at Catch Wrestling L.A. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Fett might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Fett stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Rodrigo Carioni has been cut.
Fett sizes up Carioni with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fett scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Fett connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A decent looking cross lands there for Carioni.
Carioni throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Fett stumbling backwards into the cage! Fett bounces back off the cage towards Carioni, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Carioni lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Carioni celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
