Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Smeshomedov (ranked 1701 p4p, 573 weight class) and Maman Suraman (ranked 236 p4p, 81 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Smeshomedov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maman Suraman! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suraman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Suraman has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Suraman there as he acknowledges the shot. Suraman shoots in and drives through. Smeshomedov sprawls well. Smeshomedov scores with a punch to the head. Smeshomedov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suraman circles away quickly and effectively. Smeshomedov is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Suraman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Suraman fails in his attempt to clinch. Smeshomedov checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Smeshomedov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. No joy there for Smeshomedov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smeshomedov cracks Suraman with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Smeshomedov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Suraman. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Suraman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Suraman defending well as Smeshomedov loads up on a big left hand. Maman Suraman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Suraman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smeshomedov avoids it really well and circles away.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike Smeshomedov showed his dominance in that final round. Well Smeshomedov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
