Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaron Simon (ranked 3046 p4p, 5700 weight class) and Johnny Robinson (ranked 400 p4p, 579 weight class). Johnny Robinson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jaron Simon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaron Simon! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Robinson! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Simon. Robinson sizes up Simon with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Robinson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Nice uppercut there from Robinson. Robinson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Simon is looking to counter punch. Simon misses with an uppercut
and Robinson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Simon's guard. Robinson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Robinson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Simon's head. Robinson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Let's hope that Robinson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Robinson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Robinson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Robinson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Robinson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Robinson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Simon will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Simon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Robinson on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Simon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Simon tries to get out of the position. Simon tries to control but Robinson manages to take his back. Robinson lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Robinson.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Robinson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Robinson lands shots from the back. Simon looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Robinson softening up his opponent with strikes here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Robinson controls the position. Robinson punches the canvas rather than the man. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Robinson is riding his opponent, not letting Simon buck him off. Robinson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Robinson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Robinson closes the distance and clinches up with Simon, looking for a takedown. Robinson pushes Simon against the cage but Simon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Simon throws a poor cross that misses
and Robinson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Robinson. Robinson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Simon wants to control but Robinson passes easily into half guard.
Robinson is taking a breather. Simon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simon taking some punishment here, with Robinson in his half guard. Robinson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Robinson works his way into full mount! Robinson controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simon defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Robinson. Robinson controlling from the full mount. Robinson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Robinson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Simon looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's four minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Robinson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Robinson content just to control the position here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Robinson with good strikes from the mount here! Simon is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Robinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Robinson fails with a takedown attempt. Robinson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Robinson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Simon! Robinson working Simon over with strikes here. Robinson thowing shots but they're missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robinson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Simon blocking the ground and pound. Robinson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Simon is rocked! Robinson postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Simon out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Robinson goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
