Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lance Thorn (ranked 2764 p4p, 4542 weight class) and Arlo James (ranked 371 p4p, 516 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Thorn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arlo James!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorn throws a looping overhand right but James ducks down to avoid it.
James tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Thorn scores with a shot to the body.
Thorn tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
James is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
James avoids a punch combination nicely.
A big right from Thorn misses.
James blocks a jab.
Thorn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.
James throws a counter combo.
Thorn misses with a straight right.
James is looking for the big counter here.

and James counters by moving into the clinch.
James slows down the pace here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Thorn as James tries to tie him up.

Thorn lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of James backwards.
James throws a punch but it's blocked by Thorn.
Thorn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Thorn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Thorn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. James sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Thorn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
James shoots in for a double leg but Thorn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Thorn swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Thorn throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thorn is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
James takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Thorn scores with a jab to the body.
Thorn feints a jab promting James to slip. Thorn then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. James slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Arlo James has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thorn lands a big right hand that sends James crashing to the mat! Thorn stays standing though and waves James back to his feet!
James is rocked!
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Thorn moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt James! Thorn continues to tee off on James, landing with a left and a right! Thorn connects with a right hand that leaves James sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Thorn!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lance Thorn!
