The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Kamenev defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laitila. Kamenev shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Laitila napping and manages to drive through into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Kamenev (4) vs (0) Laitila Laitila struggling a bit here. Laitila is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kamenev is staying active. Laitila is not content to let Kamenev control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laitila is looking to regain half guard here but Kamenev keeps moving and retains side control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kamenev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laitila keeps working. Kamenev not doing much here.

He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kamenev seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Laitila has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kamenev tries to lock up and control but Laitila gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Laitila looking to control and managing it successfully.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Laitila controlling the positon. It looks like Laitila might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Laitila might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kamenev haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kamenev trying to control the action but Laitila just sinks the hooks in.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Kamenev is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Kamenev trying to control the position but Laitila manages to sink in the hooks. Laitila has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kamenev's body.

Laitila is cranking Kamenev's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Kamenev! He's tightened the choke and Kamenev is tapping out!
