The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Anderson has Vernon up against the ropes in a clinch.
Anderson prevents a takedown attempt there.

Vernon is trying to trip Anderson. He has hold of a leg but Anderson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Vernon persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Vernon wants to pass the guard but Anderson is keeping the position.

Vernon tries to free his leg and advance position but Anderson is retaining full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Anderson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
