Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trappy Trapperson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samuel Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Sanchez - just one landing.
Sanchez lands with a straight right. Trapperson didn't see that one coming.

Sanchez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sanchez lands a shoulder strike.
Sanchez's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sanchez's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Sanchez is pushing Trapperson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Sanchez tightens his grip and picks Trapperson up, before dumping him to the ground. Trapperson manages to land in guard.
Sanchez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Sanchez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Trapperson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanchez manages to get himself to full guard.

Sanchez lands some strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trapperson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sanchez has Trapperson pulled in close to control his posture.

Sanchez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Trapperson manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sanchez cracks Trapperson with a solid left hand.

Trapperson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sanchez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Sanchez stands and throws Trapperson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Trapperson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sanchez connects with a decent elbow.

Sanchez advances to mount.
Trapperson is trying to escape the mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trapperson tries to reverse the position but Sanchez maintains control.

Trapperson is trying to escape the mount.
Sanchez lands with some strikes.
Sanchez scores with a couple of good head shots there.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Samuel Sanchez dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Sanchez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Trapperson needs to keep his hands up - Sanchez had a free shot at his head there.
Sanchez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Oh Trapperson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sanchez works over Trapperson's head and body with a nice combination.

Sanchez gets a double leg takedown into Trapperson's guard.

Trapperson pushes Sanchez off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sanchez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Trapperson quickly recovers to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sanchez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Trapperson seems to have got his legs back now.
Sanchez winds up and cracks Trapperson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sanchez slips a nice elbow through Trapperson's hands, connecting with Trapperson's forehead.

Trapperson wants to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sanchez connects with a nice short shot to Trapperson's temple.
Trapperson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanchez is working away from the top position though.

Sanchez is nestled in close to Trapperson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Sanchez is pressing down on Trapperson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Trapperson is holding on for now.
Sanchez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Trapperson is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Sanchez is tapping! Great win for Trapperson!
