Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Yamazaki (ranked 4735 p4p, 4117 weight class) and Joaquim Paz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joaquim Paz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenji Yamazaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joaquim Paz! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamazaki dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Yamazaki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Paz's head.
It looks like Joaquim Paz has been cut. Paz ducks right into an uppercut from Yamazaki. Paz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Yamazaki counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Paz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yamazaki to the mat! Yamazaki manages to get full guard. Yamazaki keeping moving, preventing Paz from controlling successfully. Yamazaki wants to stand but Paz is controlling the position. Paz is looking to work some ground and pound but Yamazaki has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamazaki is looking to stand up but Paz isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Yamazaki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Yamazaki stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That has opened up Joaquim Paz's cut even more. Yamazaki connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Paz momentarily.
Paz fails with a takedown attempt. Yamazaki looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Yamazaki cracks Paz with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Paz looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Yamazaki finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yamazaki sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Paz's defenses. It connects perfectly with Paz's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kenji Yamazaki! A relieved looking Kenji Yamazaki thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
