Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dougie McFistface (ranked 1251 p4p, 1274 weight class) and Malachi Lawrence (ranked 167 p4p, 174 weight class). McFistface comes to the cage accompanied by Tiptoe Through The Tulips. Lawrence has chosen Many Men as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dougie McFistface!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 24 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malachi Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence throws out a leg kick but McFistface moves out of range and Lawrence only half commits.
McFistface shoots for a takedown but Lawrence saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lawrence keeps the fight on the outside.
McFistface throws a push kick but Lawrence slaps the foot to one side.
Lawrence slaps away a takedown attempt from McFistface, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McFistface tries to clinch up but Lawrence circles away and keeps his distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McFistface rushes Lawrence and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Lawrence is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. McFistface presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

McFistface fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lawrence sprawls well initially but McFistface persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
McFistface is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lawrence doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McFistface.
McFistface misses with a head shot. Lawrence uses the momentum to regain guard.
McFistface slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McFistface can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lawrence controls the pace.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McFistface doesn't manage to clinch there - Lawrence circles away.
McFistface ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lawrence moves away.
Lawrence has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Let's hope that Lawrence has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

and McFistface counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

McFistface is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lawrence is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lawrence working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

McFistface has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lawrence is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McFistface.

Malachi Lawrence comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lawrence has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Malachi Lawrence decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
