The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Murphy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Smiff shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Javontonius Smiff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smiff shoots for a takedown but Murphy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Murphy seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Smiff fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Murphy scores with a shot to the body.

Murphy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smiff sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
