Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Van Dukes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mathieu David!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dukes throws a series of punches but David avoids them all with ease.
David displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
A lazy body kick from Dukes
and David counters with a left and a right that stings Dukes.
Dukes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before David can pounce on him.

David drives through and clinches with Dukes against the cage.
David tries to land a knee to the head but Dukes blocks with his arms.

David lands a hook that snaps the head of Dukes backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is keeping an eye on David - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

David breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

David dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
David has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dukes is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Dukes takes a jab right on the kisser.

Mathieu David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
David lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A thudding body kick lands there by Dukes!
Dukes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
David lands a high kick!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dukes tries to clinch but David moves away
and David counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
David scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
David looks to land a left hand but Dukes moved out of range nicely.
Dukes appears to be looking for a big counter.
David will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dukes tries to land a body kick
and David counters with a series of strikes. Dukes will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mathieu David dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

David lands an overhand right.
Dukes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Dukes is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Dukes. David does a little dance to reset his feet.
Oh Dukes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dukes gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! David gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Dukes is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mathieu David!
