Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Agbay Amiga (ranked 23525 p4p, 23827 weight class) and Helen Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Agbay Amiga has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 44 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Agbay Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 38 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Salvacion closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Salvacion content to control rather than advance.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Amiga keeping hold of Salvacion's head, controlling as best he can.
Amiga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Salvacion is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion trying to pass the guard but Amiga defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salvacion controlling the action here.
Amiga has his hands clasped together around Salvacion's back. He's all about the action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Salvacion content to control rather than advance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Salvacion with a poor takedown
and Amiga counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Salvacion thinking.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Salvacion.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Amiga.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Amiga wants to stand but Salvacion has his arm trapped.
Amiga working away.
Salvacion might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Amiga haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Amiga decides to stand back up. Amiga steps back and let's Salvacion get back to his feet.
Salvacion changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amiga tries to avoid it but Salvacion manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amiga to the ground. Amiga escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Amiga thinks about countering with a body kick.
Agbay Amiga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Helen Salvacion.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Salvacion gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Amiga counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Amiga is taking a breather. Salvacion says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Amiga tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Salvacion.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Agbay Amiga dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

No luck for Amiga with that takedown attempt.
Salvacion steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Amiga looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Salvacion is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Amiga with a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salvacion darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salvacion is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Let's hope that Salvacion has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Amiga is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Amiga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Salvacion is working away from the top position though.
Still in half guard, Salvacion seems content to control.
Amiga is trying to maintain the position but Salvacion is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Amiga shoots for a double leg takedown but Salvacion sprawls well. He's pushed Amiga's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Amiga blocks it well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Agbay Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Salvacion shoots in for a takedown but Amiga shows good takedown defense.
Amiga quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Amiga shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Salvacion but Salvacion pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Salvacion looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Still in half guard, Salvacion seems content to control.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Salvacion.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Amiga is trying to stand.
Amiga is holding on to half guard well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Helen Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Salvacion gets a double leg takedown into Amiga's guard.
Salvacion sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Amiga's guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amiga trying to control from the bottom.

Amiga tries to roll over but Salvacion keeps him under control.
Salvacion is taking a breather. Amiga says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Salvacion misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Amiga bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Amiga tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
You can see the frustration on Salvacion's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Salvacion is letting Amiga control him for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salvacion is trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Amiga wants to stand but Salvacion is controlling his arm.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Amiga fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Salvacion avoids it really well and circles away.
Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Amiga blocks it well.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Agbay Amiga.
Well Amiga has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
