Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamenev tries for a takedown but Kalambay circles away easily
and Kalambay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kalambay leaves Kamenev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kalambay ! But no joy.
Kamenev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kalambay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pushka Kamenev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kalambay has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Kalambay works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kamenev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kalambay 's waist but Kalambay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kamenev off to one side.
Kalambay cracks Kamenev with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Kalambay moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kamenev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kamenev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kalambay throws out a counter right but Kamenev avoids it with no problem.

and Kalambay counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Kalambay lands with a straight right. Kamenev didn't see that one coming.
Pushka Kamenev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalambay stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kalambay wants it to stay on the feet.

Kalambay thuds his right hand into Kamenev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Kalambay counters with a nice right hand that sends Kamenev toppling to the canvas! Kamenev scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kalambay finish him?!
Kamenev is rocked!
Kalambay lands a right hook to the body.
Kamenev takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
BOOM! Kalambay lands a beautiful left hook that drops Kamenev. Kamenev tries to recover but Kalambay is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Kamenev lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sumbu Kalambay !
