Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khazmat Whittaker (ranked 24722 p4p, 3150 weight class) and Elmo Fredrico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khazmat Whittaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elmo Fredrico! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Topper Green and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whittaker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fredrico. Whittaker takes the fight into the clinch. Whittaker is fighting off a takedown attempt but Fredrico is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Whittaker to the mat. Whittaker regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Fredrico seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Whittaker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fredrico gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fredrico controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fredrico throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fredrico pushes down on Whittaker's leg and manages to get into half guard. Fredrico content to control rather than advance. Fredrico takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Fredrico is taking a breather. Whittaker says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Whittaker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fredrico is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fredrico is figuring out what he wants to do next. Whittaker is looking to improve his position.
Fredrico wants to pass to mount but Whittaker is defending the position. Fredrico working over Whittaker with some ground and pound. Whittaker looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Fredrico drops an elbow to the side of Whittaker's head. Fredrico trying to control the pace. Let's hope that Fredrico has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fredrico seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Fredrico is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Fredrico is nestled in close to Whittaker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Fredrico not doing much here.

Fredrico working over Whittaker with some ground and pound. Whittaker looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Well, if Fredrico is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Elmo Fredrico dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Whittaker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fredrico to score an easy takedown into full guard. Fredrico is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fredrico working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fredrico engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Fredrico content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Fredrico is continuing to stall. Whittaker keeping full guard, as Fredrico tries to pass. Fredrico preventing the sweep. Fredrico works over Whittaker with some ground and pound from guard. Fredrico is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Whittaker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fredrico stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fredrico wants it to stay on the feet. Fredrico drives through with a takedown into guard. Whittaker wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Fredrico manages to pass to side control.
Whittaker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Fredrico slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whittaker taking some punishment here, with Fredrico in his half guard. Fredrico keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Fredrico tries to pass the half guard into mount. Whittaker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Fredrico is controlling the pace.
The adventures of Fredrico the control monster continue. Boring. Fredrico has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Elmo Fredrico has got the better of the ground game so far. Whittaker moves into full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Whittaker has momentary wrist control but Fredrico slips an elbow through the middle. Fredrico scoring with some ground and pound. Fredrico not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Elmo Fredrico showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Fredrico shoots in for a takedown but Whittaker shows good takedown defense. Elmo Fredrico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fredrico closes this distance looking for a takedown but Whittaker circles away. Whittaker slaps away a takedown attempt from Fredrico, before circling back to the center of the mat. Khazmat Whittaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elmo Fredrico. Horrible takedown attempt by Fredrico or perhaps it was just good defense by Whittaker, which made it look bad. Whittaker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fredrico, pushing him back against the cage. Fredrico jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Whittaker walks away with a smile on his face. Fredrico gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Fredrico throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Whittaker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fredrico is in Whittaker's guard. Whittaker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fredrico controls the pace. Fredrico missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fredrico lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fredrico's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Whittaker is trying to control the position from the bottom.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Fredrico shoots in for a takedown but Whittaker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Whittaker slaps away a takedown attempt from Fredrico, before circling back to the center of the mat. It looked like Whittaker was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Fredrico fails to land the takedown. As Fredrico looks to move away, Whittaker throws a big counter combo but Fredrico just gets out of the way. Fredrico will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Whittaker went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Whittaker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Fredrico changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Whittaker fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Whittaker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whittaker wants it to stay on the feet. Whittaker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fredrico, pushing him back against the cage. Fredrico is trying to pull guard but Whittaker turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Whittaker successfully pulls guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fredrico sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Whittaker's guard. Whittaker tries to kick Fredrico off but Fredrico keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Whittaker is looking for a sweep. Fredrico is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fredrico sitting and controlling from the half guard. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Fredrico. Fredrico's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fredrico connects with a nice short shot to Whittaker's temple. Fredrico performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Fredrico is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Fredrico seems content to control. Fredrico winds up and cracks Whittaker with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fredrico connects with a nice short shot to Whittaker's temple. Fredrico landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Fredrico is figuring out what he wants to do next. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Fredrico has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Khazmat Whittaker. I think Fredrico has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
