The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broadaxe takes a kick to the side of the head.

Broadaxe has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Plugger regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Plugger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Broadaxe postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Plugger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Broadaxe, into his guard.

Broadaxe has his foot on Plugger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Plugger works his way back into a safe position though.

Plugger is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Broadaxe has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Broadaxe!

Plugger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Broadaxe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Broadaxe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Broadaxe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Plugger swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Plugger looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Broadaxe has picked Plugger up and slammed him! Plugger can't keep hold of the triangle and Broadaxe manages to pass to side control!
Plugger has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Broadaxe creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Broadaxe looks up at the clock and then as Plugger takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Broadaxe smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That was a close round but I would say that Dwalin Broadaxe will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Broadaxe checks a leg kick.
Plugger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Broadaxe moves away.
Plugger feints and then cracks Broadaxe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Broadaxe down.

and Broadaxe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Plugger's guard.

Plugger is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Plugger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Broadaxe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Broadaxe tries to free his leg and advance position but Plugger is retaining full guard.

Plugger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Broadaxe defends well.

Broadaxe has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Plugger to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Broadaxe is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Plugger pulls down on the head and he's put Broadaxe to sleep! This one is all over!
