Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Hedegaard (ranked 1175 p4p, 1484 weight class) and Tuur Carlier (ranked 149 p4p, 181 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Hedegaard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tuur Carlier!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedegaard shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hedegaard showed some decent athleticism there.
Hedegaard is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carlier doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hedegaard.
Hedegaard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carlier knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hedegaard is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carlier tries to reverse the position but Hedegaard maintains control.
Hedegaard has hold of Carlier's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Carlier manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hedegaard working for a guillotine from mount but Carlier is in no mood to give up.

Hedegaard wants to control the pace but Carlier is squirming around nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hedegaard lands a heavy elbow.
Hedegaard tries to control but Carlier wriggling away.
Carlier slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Carlier wants to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hedegaard connects with a nice short shot to Carlier's temple.

Hedegaard seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Carlier is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
