PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clifford Val Salvacion (ranked 23513 p4p, 3232 weight class) and Cole Lake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lake is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Panic Attack. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 53 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clifford Val Salvacion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Lake!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lake moves into the clinch successfully.
Lake looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Lake has Salvacion pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lake pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Salvacion tumbling to the mat - Lake dives into Salvacion's guard.

Lake is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Lake shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lake was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Salvacion takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cole Lake dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Salvacion jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

As Lake backs away, Salvacion returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Salvacion shoots in for a takedown but Lake shows good takedown defense.
Salvacion goes for a double leg but Lake avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lake continues to drive forward.

Salvacion goes for a takedown attempt but Lake pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Lake shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Salvacion's guard.

Lake closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lake rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Salvacion moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Salvacion misses with a takedown attempt - Lake sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Salvacion jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Cole Lake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Salvacion throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lake's waist but Lake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Salvacion off to one side.

Cole Lake comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lake has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
