Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Choke (ranked 22 p4p, 269 weight class) and Ralph McGuire (ranked 3 p4p, 41 weight class). McGuire has chosen Confederate Railroad - Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 31 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 35 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph McGuire! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGuire misses with a low kick as Choke jumps back. Choke looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. McGuire misses with a body shot.
McGuire gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Choke to score an easy takedown into full guard. Choke with a flurry of punches that miss. Choke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Choke pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McGuire is keeping the position for now. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Choke's corner. There ya go! There ya go! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Choke trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Choke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Choke has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. McGuire keeping full guard, as Choke tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Choke is looking to work some ground and pound but McGuire has wrist control. Choke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGuire swivels though and keeps the full guard. Choke chips away with some ground and pound. Choke tries to free his leg and advance position but McGuire is retaining full guard. Choke trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but McGuire manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Choke working for submissions but it's allowed McGuire to get to half guard.
Choke wants to improve his position but McGuire is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Choke looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and McGuire pushes past his half guard into mount! McGuire stands up from mount. Strange move. Choke tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McGuire defends well and Choke ends up having to push McGuire into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. McGuire flicks out a counter leg kick but Choke steps away. McGuire makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. McGuire misses with some punches.
McGuire lands a body shot in the clinch.
Choke tries for a takedown but McGuire manages to get underhooks.
McGuire pushes Choke back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. McGuire lands a nice uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McGuire escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGuire's corner calls for a 1-2. McGuire obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like David Choke has been cut. McGuire will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGuire cracks a nice hook into Choke's ribs. Choke tries to score a power double leg takedown but McGuire sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Choke somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Choke. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGuire misses with a straight right. Choke appears to be looking for a counter takedown. McGuire throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McGuire fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. McGuire throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Choke counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Choke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGuire swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Choke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McGuire manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Choke has McGuire in his guard.
McGuire stands and steps away. Choke gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. McGuire throws a leg kick that misses. McGuire swings for the body but Choke moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Choke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGuire pinned against the cage. McGuire gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McGuire misses the shot to the body. Choke feinted with a counter takedown. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ralph McGuire dominated that round. The cut man is working on David Choke's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. McGuire fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Choke manages to avoid it. Choke doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Choke blocks a head kick by McGuire.

A looping hook to the body misses from McGuire. Choke does a little dance to reset his feet. McGuire punishes Choke's body with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Choke needs to keep his hands up - McGuire had a free shot at his head there. McGuire bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Choke's head backwards. McGuire jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGuire pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Ralph McGuire seems to be getting the better of the standup. McGuire throws a nice inside leg kick. Choke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McGuire defends it nicely. McGuire throws a shot from downtown. Choke moves away and avoids it. McGuire cracks Choke with an open hand slap. McGuire has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Choke gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McGuire counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Choke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGuire pinned against the cage. McGuire gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Choke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from McGuire. Choke does a little dance to reset his feet. McGuire cracks Choke with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. McGuire has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Choke to stand back up!
Choke is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Choke moves out of range of the body kick from McGuire.
Choke avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ralph McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McGuire throws a shot from downtown. Choke moves away and avoids it. Ralph McGuire is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Choke misses with a takedown attempt - McGuire sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGuire gets tackled into the cage by Choke. Choke maintains the clinch. Choke tightens his grip and picks McGuire up, before dumping him to the ground. McGuire manages to land in guard. Choke wants to pass the guard but McGuire is keeping the position. Choke drops back, looking for a kneebar! McGuire looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McGuire looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McGuire!
McGuire decides to take the fight back to the feet. Choke fails with a takedown attempt from distance. McGuire looks to score with a jab to the body but Choke is just out of range. McGuire connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Choke momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGuire ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Choke moves away. Choke tries to counter by moving into the clinch but McGuire manages to circle out of the way. McGuire lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGuire knocks out Choke with a massive right hand! The ref tackles McGuire before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. McGuire picks up the big W with a huge KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ralph McGuire! A relieved looking Ralph McGuire thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
