The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pleasures feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Masters preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Masters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pleasures doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pleasures manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pleasures is looking to stand up but Masters won't let him.

Pleasures shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Masters is trying to defend but Pleasures finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Pleasures seems to be working for a kimura but Masters defends the submission attempt.

Masters tries to get to full guard but Pleasures has control of the leg.

Masters is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pleasures pulls his head out easily.

Pleasures stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

and Pleasures counters with a shoot takedown. Masters fights it but they end up in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pleasures accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pleasures connects with a couple of short punches.
Pleasures wants to stand but Masters has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Masters is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pleasures's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pleasures's back!

Pleasures is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Masters gets his way!

Masters had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pleasures is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Masters Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pleasures's back instead.
