Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Herra Peto (ranked 4306 p4p, 4317 weight class) and Mohammad Contreras (ranked 484 p4p, 485 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Herra Peto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mohammad Contreras! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Contreras drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Peto can't do much from the bottom here. Contreras stands up. Peto gets a clinch. Peto taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Peto goes for a takedown attempt but Contreras pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Contreras wants to clinch. Peto changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Contreras darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Contreras takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peto wants to get back to full guard. Well, if Contreras is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Peto is looking to improve his position.
Contreras lands with a punch from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Contreras sitting and controlling from the half guard. Peto looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Peto is trying to get back to full guard. Peto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Contreras's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Contreras's back! Contreras is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Contreras breaks Peto's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Peto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Contreras can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Peto being controlled here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras landing some decent shots from guard. Peto working for a triangle but Contreras defends it easily.
Contreras pushes down on Peto's leg and manages to get into half guard. Contreras is looking to advance position but Peto won't allow it. Contreras seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Contreras is looking to advance position but Peto won't allow it. Peto trying to control but Contreras postures up.

Contreras is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Peto defends it well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Contreras in particular looking to stall. Contreras is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Contreras. Contreras takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mohammad Contreras dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peto is on top in guard.
Peto trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Peto trying to control but Contreras is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mohammad Contreras has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peto defends it easily. Peto pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Contreras is keeping the position for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Contreras can do anything to dispel that myth. Contreras looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Contreras pulls Peto in close to prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Contreras tries to land a sweep but no joy. Contreras throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Peto escapes and throws Contreras's legs to the side, diving into side control! Peto goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Contreras rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Peto's guard! Nice work there by Contreras! Peto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Contreras is looking to control Peto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Contreras avoid being mounted? Peto wants to work for an arm triangle but Contreras is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Peto has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Contreras is in all sorts of trouble here.
Peto is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Contreras to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Contreras shrugs it off. Contreras tries to lock up and control but Peto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Peto working for a submission but Contreras is keeping him at bay. Peto swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Contreras is now in Peto's guard. A big mistake from Peto there, giving up the dominant position! Contreras works over Peto with some ground and pound from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peto is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Contreras chips away with some ground and pound. Peto looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Contreras got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Contreras has managed to get both his arms back between Peto's legs - danger averted. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Contreras content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Contreras controlling from the top position. Peto has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Contreras should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Peto has tightened it up now! Contreras should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
