PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sss Sss (ranked 5573 p4p, 23037 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 86 - 26 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 93 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Fighter B fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Fighter B shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B stalling away here and it's allowed Fighter A to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A controlling Fighter B's posture.
Fighter A continues to stall.
Fighter B trying to control the position from guard on top but Fighter A is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fighter A holds on and takes a little breather.
Fighter A keeping moving, preventing Fighter B from controlling successfully.
Fighter B wants to stand and escape but instead Fighter A has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Fighter A is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B managing to control the position.
Fighter A not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Fighter B gets a double leg takedown into Fighter A's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fighter B sitting in guard here, content to control.
Fighter A working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fighter B.
Fighter B controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Fighter B trying to control but Fighter A is working from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fighter A fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fighter B avoids it really well and circles away.
Fighter B steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Fighter A gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fighter B counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter B tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter A keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter B manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fighter B tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sss Sss. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fighter A enables Fighter B to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fighter A manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fighter A is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Fighter B seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fighter B trying to control but Fighter A is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fighter B controls the pace.
Fighter B wants to control from the top but Fighter A keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fighter B.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B working the ground and pound but Fighter A is defending the strikes.
Fighter A gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fighter B wants to control but Fighter A is keeping him busy.
Fighter A controlling the position for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Fighter A's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Fighter B darts in looking for a takedown but Fighter A gets double underhooks and turns Fighter B into the cage.
Fighter A jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Fighter A shoots in and gets a takedown into Fighter B's guard.
Fighter A controlling from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fighter A stopping the sweep attempt from Fighter B.
Sss Sss has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fighter A stays in close to Fighter B's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fighter B tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fighter A swivels and escapes.
Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it.
Fighter B will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fighter A thinks about countering with a head kick.
Sss Sss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sss Sss.
Fighter B with a lazy takedown attempt
and Fighter A counters with a good, hard body kick but Fighter B shrugs it off.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fighter A sprawls well. Fighter A wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fighter B gets slowly back to his feet.
Fighter A is looking to counter with a body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fighter B manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fighter B throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Fighter B takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Fighter B is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Fighter A with a body shot.
Fighter B shoots for a double leg takedown but Fighter A sprawls well. He's pushed Fighter B's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And Fighter A counters with a quick kick to the body but Fighter B blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fighter B tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter A sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fighter B somewhat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fighter B enables Fighter A to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fighter B manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sss Sss showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fighter B has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
