The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza misses with a left hand
and McPherson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Josue Souza has been cut.
McPherson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Souza.
Souza tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McPherson was well out of range. Poor timing from Souza.
McPherson has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Souza on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Souza looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Souza throws a looping overhand right but McPherson ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McPherson throws a hook but Souza blocks it.
McPherson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Souza dodges the punch combination from McPherson.

Souza throws a head kick but McPherson moves out of range.
McPherson looks like he wants to counter punch here.
No joy there for Souza, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Souza looks to land a left hand but McPherson moved out of range nicely.
A nice side step and McPherson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Souza wants to clinch but McPherson slips to the side

and McPherson counters with a crisp right hand that drops Souza! McPherson lets Souza back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Souza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McPherson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Souza misses with an uppercut
and McPherson counters with a crisp right that sends Souza to the canvas! McPherson follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

A relieved looking Finley McPherson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
