The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Clubber shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sulvar as he avoids it easily. Clubber fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sulvar sprawls well initially but Clubber persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sulvar is desperately trying to improve his position but Clubber has a good base and remains in mount. Clubber wants to control the pace but Sulvar is squirming around nicely. Clubber tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Clubber has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Clubber seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sulvar for as long as he can get away with. Clubber gets his hands free as Sulvar looks to control. Clubber biding his time, looking for the opening.

Clubber is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Sulvar trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Clubber tries to get the hooks in deep but Sulvar pushed the leg off. Clubber controlling the position well here. Sulvar rolled but Clubber kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Clubber has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Sulvar's body.

Clubber trying to control. Clubber is not going to allow Sulvar to sit and survive in this position. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Clubber looking to hold on to the position here but Sulvar rolls and ends up regaining guard.
