Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23677 p4p, 23614 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 30 - 43 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 32 - 41 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Nada shoots in but no luck this time. Nice takedown defense from Kiang. No joy for Nada on that attempt. Kiang swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Nada shoots for a takedown but Kiang saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kiang is looking to counter with a body kick. Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada. Kiang shoots for a double leg takedown but Nada sprawls well. He's pushed Kiang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nada is fending him off so far but Kiang persists. Nope, Nada circles away and we're back to standing. Nada follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Kiang fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nada avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang shoots in looking for a takedown but Nada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kiang's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nada has a takedown stuffed. Nada shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nada throws a big elbow that misses. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kiang holds on and takes a little breather. Nada's corner is telling him to maintain position. Let's hope that Nada has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Nada looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kiang is fending him off so far but Nada persists. Nope, Kiang circles away and we're back to standing. Kiang throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nada's waist but Nada gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kiang off to one side. Nada follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kiang fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A nice side step and Nada releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Nada shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nada was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kiang is looking for a sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kiang wants to control but Nada postures up. Nada content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Way Nada dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Kiang shoots in but Nada avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nada counters with a body kick. Kiang shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Nada counters with a left and a right that stings Kiang. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nada.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nada. Kiang thinks about countering with a body kick. Nada tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kiang defends well and Nada ends up having to push Kiang into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Kiang throws a quick counter kick to the body but Nada avoids it. Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada. Nada fails with the takedown and Kiang counters with a body kick that stops Nada in his tracks momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nada shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kiang pinned against the cage. Kiang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A lazy body kick from Kiang and Nada counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kiang looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiang looking to control but Nada passes into half guard.
Kiang is doing well to control the position and prevent Nada from advancing to side control. Nada has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nada with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kiang is looking to control Nada's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kiang avoid being mounted? Kiang is trying to control but Nada passes into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A lull in the action here as Nada stalls from top position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Way Nada showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Nada shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kiang is trying to defend but Nada finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Nada keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang wants to control the action here but instead Nada manages to pass to full mount! Nada content just to control the position here. Kiang can't escape the position.
Kiang tries to hold on but Nada postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nada controlling from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiang wants to hold on but Nada pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kiang is trying desperately to improve position. Kiang holds on to Nada as tight as he can, avoiding damage. Yawa Kiang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Way Nada has got the better of the ground game so far. Nada controlling the pace for now. Way Nada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nada's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that's the end of the fight! Way Nada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nada has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
