Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapani Kangas (ranked 2107 p4p, 2796 weight class) and Sean O Rally (ranked 235 p4p, 295 weight class). Tapani Kangas could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sean O Rally's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tapani Kangas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean O Rally! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kangas missing with a left hand there. O Rally was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. O Rally is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kangas digs a good body shot into O Rally's ribs. O Rally thows a left - swing and a miss! Kangas throws a leg kick which misses O Rally's front leg but catches the back leg as O Rally tries to avoid it. O Rally fails miserably with a takedown attempt. O Rally uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kangas. Kangas takes one to the side of the head.
Kangas moves away from the strike by O Rally. An attempted straight right counter from Kangas misses the target. Kangas moves out of range of the strikes. O Rally swings widly with a right hand
and Kangas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kangas moves away from the strike by O Rally. It looked like Kangas was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from O Rally. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. O Rally walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. O Rally gets a takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! O Rally wants to pass to mount but Kangas is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Rally is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kangas keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. O Rally is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kangas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time O Rally. O Rally is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. O Rally is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kangas has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kangas preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. O Rally is trying to control. Kangas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Rally tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kangas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kangas throws a body kick that misses and O Rally counters with a one-two to the body. Kangas misses with a body shot.
O Rally stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kangas. O Rally avoids the body shot from Kangas.

and Kangas counters with a stiff right hand. O Rally uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kangas. O Rally looking for a takedown here - he's got it. O Rally is stalling in the full guard. O Rally advances position into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. O Rally is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kangas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. O Rally tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no O Rally has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. O Rally is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kangas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sean O Rally dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. O Rally swings and misses with a shot to the body and Kangas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kangas lands a glancing blow to the side of O Rally's head. O Rally swings and misses with a hook to the body.
O Rally moves out of range of the body kick. Good leg kick by Kangas. Kangas drops his hands momentarily and O Rally takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kangas throws a hook but O Rally avoids it easily. O Rally misses with a straight left. O Rally throws a shot from downtown. Kangas moves away and avoids it. Kangas jabbing away but nothing is landing. O Rally thows a left - swing and a miss! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. O Rally looks to land a right hand but Kangas moved out of range. A little feinted left hand from Kangas on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Kangas misses with a body punch
and O Rally counters with a lovely straight right hand! O Rally connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kangas. Kangas circles away out of range and recomposes himself. O Rally looks to throw the jab but Kangas is out of range. Kangas throwing a counter right hand but O Rally manages to avoid it. O Rally throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kangas scores with a push kick. Kangas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. O Rally might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Kangas lands a jab to the nose. Kangas slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kangas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kangas cracks O Rally with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Good exchange - O Rally coming out on top. O Rally fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kangas on the side of the head. Tapani Kangas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. O Rally connects with a jab. Kangas throws the left hand but O Rally avoids the punch easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! O Rally punishes Kangas's body with a nice straight punch. Kangas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from O Rally.
Kangas moves away from the strike by O Rally. O Rally shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kangas as he jumps to the side. O Rally blocks a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Kangas. O Rally does a little dance to reset his feet. Kangas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kangas pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Kangas looks to score with a jab to the body but O Rally is just out of range. O Rally throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kangas throws a sloppy head kick and O Rally moves out of range easily. O Rally swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kangas. O Rally swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kangas lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Kangas slips a jab and a cross from O Rally.
Nice jab there from O Rally. O Rally slips under a jab from Kangas. A chopping leg kick lands by O Rally. O Rally has been the more effective fighter overall so far. No joy there for Kangas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from O Rally misses. O Rally connects with a jab. O Rally misses with a series of wild punches.
Kangas dips down and scores with a jab to the body. O Rally fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Kangas connects with a jab. A lazy left from O Rally finds it's target. O Rally shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. O Rally bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kangas's head backwards. O Rally ducks under a wild hook from Kangas. O Rally fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! O Rally swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. O Rally lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A looping hook to the body misses from O Rally. Kangas does a little dance to reset his feet. O Rally throws a body shot but no joy. O Rally missing with a left hand there. and Kangas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. O Rally swings for the body but Kangas moves out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as O Rally blocks the leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Kangas. No joy for O Rally on that attempt. O Rally turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. O Rally lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kangas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kangas throws a body shot but no joy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sean O Rally showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round! A lazy left from Kangas finds it's target. O Rally misses with a hook. Kangas ducked under it nicely. Kangas throws a hook but O Rally avoids it easily. O Rally misses with a few strikes there.
Kangas misses with a looping left. O Rally looks to score with a jab to the body but Kangas is just out of range. Kangas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kangas scores with a jab to the body. Kangas throws a half hearted mid kick. O Rally throws a right hand that Kangas ducks under and follows up with a left that Kangas also avoids with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A leg kick checked by O Rally. It seemed like O Rally was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. O Rally misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kangas.
O Rally dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kangas's hands are dropping dangerously low here and O Rally connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kangas scrambles back to his feet. O Rally tries for a takedown but Kangas circles away easily and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Rally connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kangas. Kangas circles away out of range and recomposes himself. O Rally ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kangas moves away. Kangas jabs O Rally right on the nose. O Rally blinks but takes it well. A swing and a miss from Kangas. Kangas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from O Rally. A combination from O Rally does no damage. Kangas staying out of range there. O Rally with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kangas gets cracked with a nice right hand there by O Rally. Kangas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as O Rally throws out the jab. O Rally misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. That's three minutes gone in the round. Kangas has control of O Rally's left arm, preventing O Rally from doing any damage. Kangas keeping full guard, as O Rally tries to pass. Kangas keeping moving, preventing O Rally from controlling successfully. O Rally trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sean O Rally is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. O Rally wants to control from the top but Kangas keeps moving. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kangas checks a leg kick. O Rally throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kangas takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Nice defenses there by O Rally. Kangas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kangas looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. O Rally scores with a body shot.
O Rally takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
O Rally ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. O Rally scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Tapani Kangas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! O Rally throws a hook to the side of Kangas's head but Kangas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And that's the end of the fight! Sean O Rally comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well O Rally has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
