Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jones Jon (ranked 4107 p4p, 2932 weight class) and Malakai Fitzgerald (ranked 0 p4p, 238 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fitzgerald throws a jab when Jon was well out of range.

Jones Jon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fitzgerald is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jon is just riding it out for now. Fitzgerald eventually gives up the hold.

Fitzgerald is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fitzgerald crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jon - the referee stops the clock and Fitzgerald gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jon. Fitzgerald manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Jones Jon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Fitzgerald is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jon to the mat. Jon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Jon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Fitzgerald off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fitzgerald scores with a one two! Jon had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Fitzgerald closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fitzgerald has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to Malakai Fitzgerald.
