Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shang Chi (ranked 3901 p4p, 5019 weight class) and Daniel Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shang Chi had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shang Chi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Silva!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chi throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.
Chi throws a right and a left that both miss.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.

Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Chi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Chi wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position.
Silva thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Silva looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Chi wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Chi stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Chi back into the cage.
Chi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Shang Chi has been cut.

Silva is trying to trip Chi. He has hold of a leg but Chi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Silva persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silva working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Chi's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva chips away with some ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva throwing strikes from guard but Chi blocks nicely.
Chi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Silva keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Chi's head.
Chi is pulling down on Silva's head to control his posture.
Silva arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Chi's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
