The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearlygates takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Angel Pearlygates has been cut.
Faita bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pearlygates's head.
Faita lands a jab to Pearlygates's midsection.
Faita wants to clinch.
Guista Faita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Faita takes the fight into the clinch.

Pearlygates manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Pearlygates has eaten all the pies!
Pearlygates is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Faita is controlling him.
Faita is looking to stand up but Pearlygates won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pearlygates not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Faita would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pearlygates is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Faita will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pearlygates working for a triangle but Faita defends it easily.
Faita wants to stand and escape but instead Pearlygates has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Faita definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That has opened up Angel Pearlygates's cut even more.

Faita breaks from the clinch.

Faita has taken the fight to the clinch.
Faita lands a shoulder strike.
Pearlygates is still on wobbly legs! Can Faita finish him?
Faita lands with a short shot to the head.
Faita gets through Pearlygates's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Faita scores with a hook to the body.
Pearlygates seems to have recovered his senses.

Faita pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pearlygates glances at the clock... BAM! Faita nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Pearlygates crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Pearlygates is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
