The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meza misses with a hook.
Abott is looking to counter the offense by Meza and move into the clinch.
We've been told by Abott's head coaches at Island Kings Lua MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Meza ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Abott swings for the body but Meza moves out of range.
Meza throws a shot from downtown. Abott moves away and avoids it.
Meza fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Abott is breathing heavily.
Meza lands with a good body shot.
Meza fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Meza comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Meza misses with a straight left.
Abott takes a jab right on the kisser.

Meza lands a big right hand that sends Abott crashing to the mat! Meza stays standing though and waves Abott back to his feet!

Meza throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Oh Abott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Meza fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Abott looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
BAM! Meza delivers a spinning backfist that drops Abott like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
