And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 24 losses; Gaston Juncker!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

We've been hearing good reports from Scott's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Juncker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Juncker controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.

Juncker is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Scott passes Juncker's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Juncker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Juncker.
Scott wants to pass the guard but Juncker is keeping the position.

Scott's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Juncker trying to keep a closed guard but Scott is proving a slippery customer.
Scott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Juncker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Juncker felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The referee asks Scott politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Scott prefers to stall for the moment though.

Scott has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Juncker is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Scott tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Scott moves into full mount!

Juncker is trying desperately to improve position.
Scott takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Scott prevents Juncker from getting the reversal.

Juncker wants to hold on but Scott pushes him away.
Scott controlling his opponent.
Juncker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Scott controlling the position easily from mount.

Juncker manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Scott is looking to advance position but Juncker won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott prevents Juncker from improving his position.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Juncker trying to hold on to Scott's head to control him but Scott postures up.
Juncker is concentrating on defense, preventing Scott from advancing position.
