Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Metaxas Kalliope! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jah Nino! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nino sizes up Kalliope with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Nino drives through and clinches with Kalliope against the cage.

It looks like Metaxas Kalliope has been cut. We've been hearing reports that Kalliope has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Kalliope drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nino gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Metaxas Kalliope. That's going to take a lot out of him. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Nino. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nino lands an elbow inside. Nice body punch from Nino. Nino has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Kalliope seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Nino can turn it around. Nino crunches a lovely knee into Kalliope's ribcage. Kalliope is breathing heavily. Nino with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nino is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Nino lands with a short head shot on the inside. Nino lands a left hand.
Nino creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kalliope's defenses. Nino cracks Kalliope with a nice body shot. Nino makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Nino escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kalliope takes one to the chin there. Nino cracks Kalliope with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Kalliope falls to his knees and Nino doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jah Nino!
