Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Duende Verde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny Wells!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells connects with a looping right hand.
Verde looks to score with a jab to the body but Wells is just out of range.
Verde could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wells throws a body punch but Verde moves out of range.
Verde is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
It looks like Kenny Wells has been cut.
Verde scores with a jab.
Wells moves out of range of the strikes.
Verde punishes Wells's body with a nice straight punch.
Wells throws a right and a left that both miss.
Verde takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Verde cracks Wells with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Verde misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wells.
Wells is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Verde.
Wells connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Verde to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Wells!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kenny Wells!
