Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Jenken (ranked 4030 p4p, 4076 weight class) and Brolio Benitez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richard Jenken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brolio Benitez!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benitez rushes Jenken and presses him up against the cage.
Jenken wants a takedown.
Jenken blocks an uppercut.
Jenken is trying to break free.
Benitez is trying to push Jenken away but Jenken has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Jenken is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Benitez.
Benitez pushes Jenken back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Benitez.
Benitez is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Benitez swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jenken tries to land knees in the clinch but Benitez avoids the damage to the body.

Benitez lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jenken backwards.

Jenken is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Jenken throws an elbow but misses.
Benitez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jenken's elbow.
Jenken misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Benitez.

Benitez lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Benitez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jenken is defending well for now.

Jenken is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Benitez is keeping busy.
Benitez scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Jenken breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Benitez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Benitez scores with a punch to the head.

Jenken looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Benitez's corner calls for a 1-2. Benitez obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jenken tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Brolio Benitez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jenken takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Benitez lands with a cross.

Jenken closes the distance and clinches.
Jenken drops down looking for an ankle pick but Benitez pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Jenken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Benitez blocks a head kick by Jenken.
Jenken tries to clinch up but Benitez circles away and keeps his distance.
Benitez scores with a jab to the body.
Jenken takes one to the side of the head.
Jenken misses with a head kick.

Jenken shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Benitez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Benitez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jenken. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jenken is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jenken stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Benitez looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nice cross by Benitez.
Jenken tries to clinch but Benitez is having none of it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jenken.
Jenken throws a hook but Benitez blocks it.
Benitez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jenken stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jenken is trying hard to land a takedown here. Benitez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Benitez lands a really nice looking cross but Jenken seems unphased.
Jenken looks for a takedown but Benitez sprawls well.
Benitez throws a shot to the body.
Jenken gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Benitez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jenken shoots in and gets a takedown into Benitez's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jenken is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jenken stands and throws Benitez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jenken is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Benitez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ground and pound from Jenken seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Jenken tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Benitez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jenken lands a nice forearm strike.
Benitez defending against the ground and pound.
Benitez taking punishment in the form of punches.
Benitez is breathing heavily.
Jenken scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Benitez to see if he's OK.

Jenken wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Benitez, who protects the arm well.

Jenken is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Benitez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Richard Jenken overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jenken sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Benitez is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
