Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jan Sokol (ranked 847 p4p, 1015 weight class) and Paul Kings (ranked 59 p4p, 77 weight class). Paul Kings has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Sokol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Kings!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokol cracks Kings with an open hand slap.
Sokol scores with the left hand. Kings knows he should have avoided that one.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Sokol.
Sokol checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sokol takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kings missing with a left hand there. Sokol was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kings has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sokol lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sokol tries to clinch there but Kings circles away.
Kings avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kings takes one to the chin there.
Sokol gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters circling - Kings throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Oh Sokol is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sokol displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kings throws out the jab.
Kings takes one on the button.
Kings drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Sokol moves out of range as Kings strikes.
Sokol seems to have got his legs back now.
Kings cracks Sokol with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Sokol drives through with a takedown into Kings's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kings is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sokol really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kings has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sokol can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kings looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Kings controls Sokol momentarily but Sokol frees himself.

Kings is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sokol defends well.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Sokol shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kings's guard.

Kings is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sokol pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sokol working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sokol lands a nice short elbow.

Sokol is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Sokol connects with a body shot that sends Kings's belly button to the back.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kings enables Sokol to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kings manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kings is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sokol's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sokol's back!

Kings is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Sokol is tapping out! This one is all over!
