PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jennson Jameison (ranked 21229 p4p, 16004 weight class) and Jimmy Nickels (ranked 507 p4p, 532 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickels throws a head kick that misses.
Nickels throws a nice looking combination but Jameison bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jameison appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Nickels connects with a leg kick.
Jameison misses with a takedown attempt - Nickels sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jameison gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Nickels breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jameison doesn't manage to clinch there - Nickels circles away.
Nickels feints the counter takedown.
Jameison really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jameison tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nickels throws a right hand that Jameison ducks under and follows up with a left that Jameison also avoids with ease.
Nickels lets loose with a powerful body kick. Jameison will feel that in the morning.
Jameison shoots in but no luck this time.
Jameison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Nickels manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nickels misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jameison forces Nickels back against the cage and clinches.

Nickels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nickels moves into the clinch.
Jameison tries to circle away but Nickels has him pinned against the cage.

Nickels prevents Jameison from breaking the clinch.
Nickels tries for a takedown but Jameison manages to get underhooks.
Jameison fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jennson Jameison. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jameison tries to pull guard but Nickels forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Nickels blocking some punches.
Nickels is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Jameison prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jameison jumps guard but Nickels stands there with Jameison around his waist. Jameison gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jameison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jameison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nickels is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Jameison looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Nickels is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jameison's half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nickels working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nickels connects with a nice short shot to Jameison's temple.
Nickels looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Nickels is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Nickels cracks Jameison with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Nickels has isolated one of Jameison's arms. Jameison looking to fight him off but Nickels twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
