Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Reyes (ranked 25037 p4p, 23048 weight class) and Slaw Spud (ranked 454 p4p, 458 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antonio Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Slaw Spud!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spud slips a jab from Reyes.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Spud!
Spud stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Spud closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Reyes ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reyes connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Slaw Spud has been cut.
Reyes lands with a hook. Spud tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Reyes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And Spud tries to counter it with a takedown but Reyes pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Spud throws a left and a right that both miss

and Reyes counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Reyes is standing up over Spud. Spud looks to escape but Reyes dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spud is still in real trouble! Can Reyes finish him?
Reyes fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Spud seems to have recovered his senses.
Reyes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Spud seems a little lost for a moment, as Reyes dominates the positioning.

Reyes tries to move into full mount but can't pass Spud's legs.
Spud is looking to get back to his feet here but Reyes is keeping cool and he's managed to take Spud's back.
Reyes slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Reyes is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Spud knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Spud for a finish.
Spud is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Reyes is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Spud. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Reyes is looking for the choke from the back position but Spud is controlling his hands well.

Reyes looking to break Spud's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Spud remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Reyes will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Reyes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Spud has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Reyes is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Reyes throws a series of punches but Spud avoids them all with ease.

Reyes looks to score with a jab to the body but Spud is just out of range.
Spud lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Spud swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Spud will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Spud cracks Reyes with a right hand to the side of the head.
Spud ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Reyes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Spud can do to turn this around?

Reyes looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Reyes shoots in and bounces Spud off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Spud wants to get back to his feet but Reyes passes into half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Antonio Reyes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Reyes content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reyes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Reyes seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Reyes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Spud keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Spud really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reyes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Reyes content to control rather than advance.

Reyes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Spud doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reyes.

Spud rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reyes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Spud leaves Reyes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Reyes looks to land a right hand but Spud moved out of range.

Reyes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Spud wants to break free but Reyes has control.

Spud smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Reyes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Reyes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Reyes fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Spud to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Spud looks to clinch but Reyes throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Spud taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
