Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Spartan (ranked 2891 p4p, 3714 weight class) and Richard Glass (ranked 367 p4p, 432 weight class). Spartan comes to the cage accompanied by Try That in a Small Town. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Glass!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spartan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Glass napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Spartan controls the position.
Spartan tries to move to mount but Glass blocks the move with his legs.
Spartan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Glass keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spartan throws a strike aimed at the side of Glass's head but Glass avoids it well.

Spartan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Glass has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
An elbow from Spartan crashes against the mat.
Spartan trying to control the action but Glass is working from the bottom.

Spartan decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Spartan or perhaps it was just good defense by Glass, which made it look bad.
Glass's corner calls for a 1-2. Glass obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Spartan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Glass counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spartan thinking.
Glass has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Glass lands with a nice body punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Glass. Spartan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Spartan thows a leg kick but Glass checks it
and Glass counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Spartan with a lazy takedown attempt
and Spartan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Spartan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spartan shoots in but no luck this time.
Glass keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jason Spartan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spartan has a takedown stuffed.

Spartan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Glass moves away.

Spartan moves into the clinch successfully.
Glass tries to throw a body punch but Spartan avoids it by throwing Glass back against the cage.
Spartan is trying to pull guard but Glass turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Spartan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Glass uses from the top position.
Glass wants to stand but Spartan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spartan wants to sweep here but Glass controlling him for the moment.
Spartan is trying to control the position but Glass postures up.

Glass has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Spartan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Glass is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Spartan pulls down on the head and he's put Glass to sleep! This one is all over!
