Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lorenzo Smashotti (ranked 3410 p4p, 3169 weight class) and KJ Hoodwell (ranked 361 p4p, 341 weight class). KJ Hoodwell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lorenzo Smashotti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, KJ Hoodwell!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Watson and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Smashotti does no damage.
Smashotti punishes Hoodwell's body with a nice straight punch.
Smashotti looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hoodwell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoodwell gets tackled into the cage by Smashotti. Smashotti maintains the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Smashotti.
Smashotti dodges an elbow strike from Hoodwell.
Hoodwell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smashotti checks a leg kick nicely.
Hoodwell misses with a combination
enabling Smashotti to counter with a crisp jab.
Smashotti tries to clinch up.
Smashotti moves into the clinch successfully.
Hoodwell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smashotti avoids the body shot from Hoodwell.
Smashotti forces Hoodwell back against the cage and clinches.
Hoodwell manages to pull guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hoodwell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Smashotti distracts Hoodwell with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Smashotti scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Smashotti advances to half guard.
Hoodwell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Smashotti decides to return to a standing position.
Smashotti paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Smashotti throws a right hand that Hoodwell ducks under and follows up with a left that Hoodwell also avoids with ease.
Smashotti connects with a right hand. Hoodwell shakes it off.
Smashotti moves into the clinch.
Smashotti's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hoodwell wants to clinch up but Smashotti keeps it at a distance.
Hoodwell throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Hoodwell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hoodwell is rocked!
No joy there for Hoodwell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hoodwell is still on wobbly legs! Can Smashotti finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smashotti lands with a big right hook that stumbles Hoodwell - he's out on his feet here! Smashotti follows up with another monster hook that separates Hoodwell from consciousness! Hoodwell falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Smashotti stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lorenzo Smashotti!
Lorenzo Smashotti spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
