Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ong Bak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Attelecanth! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Attelecanth gets a takedown into half guard. Attelecanth wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bak keeps working. Bak tries to kick Attelecanth off but Attelecanth keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Attelecanth is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Attelecanth passes the guard and advances to mount! Bak is trying to stand. Attelecanth controlling from the full mount. Attelecanth can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bak is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bak holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Attelecanth tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Bak in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Attelecanth lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Bak is trying to get back to his feet but Attelecanth has full control of the position and if anything, Bak has just worked his way into a worse spot. Bak is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Attelecanth gets his way!

Attelecanth gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Attelecanth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Attelecanth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bak is wriggling around but Attelecanth manages to pass to half guard.
Attelecanth seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bak does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ong Bak will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Attelecanth wants to clinch and Bak counters with a flying knee that drops Attelecanth! Attelecanth is trying to control the position but Bak postures up. Bak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bak is working Attelecanth over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bak wants to control from the top but Attelecanth keeps moving. Attelecanth is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Attelecanth utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Attelecanth takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Attelecanth looking for a sweep. Not yet Attelecanth, not yet. Bak tries to stand but Attelecanth is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Attelecanth is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Bak tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Attelecanth tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bak smiles and moves away.

Attelecanth is trying to control the action in half guard but Bak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bak wants to improve his position but Attelecanth is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Attelecanth changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bak tries to avoid it but Attelecanth manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bak to the ground. Bak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Attelecanth keeps the fight on the outside. Bak tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bak tries a head kick but it misses.
Attelecanth darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bak keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Attelecanth moves into full mount! Bak won't be happy about that! Attelecanth won't let Bak get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Bak is desperately trying to improve his position but Attelecanth has a good base and remains in mount. Simon Attelecanth has got the better of the ground game so far. Attelecanth wants to control the pace but Bak is squirming around nicely. Bak wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Attelecanth.
Bak tries to lock up and control but Attelecanth gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bak is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Bak is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Bak is squirming around, avoiding Attelecanth's attempts to control the action. Bak is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
