Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Allen (ranked 3929 p4p, 3787 weight class) and Kwong Loo (ranked 456 p4p, 442 weight class). Allen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is yeat-spiderman remix. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Derrick Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kwong Loo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Allen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Loo to the mat! Loo manages to get full guard.
Loo wants to stand and escape but Allen is having none of it.

Loo is looking for a triangle but Allen pushes his legs off easily.

Allen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Allen passes into half guard.
Allen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Allen is looking to take a break and control but Loo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Loo controlling the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loo is looking to control Allen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Loo avoid being mounted?
Allen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Loo wants to control but Allen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Loo is looking for a sweep. Allen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Allen is trying to control. Loo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Allen looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Well, if Allen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Allen enables Loo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Allen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Allen is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Loo wants to control from the top but Allen keeps moving.
Loo wants to pass the guard but Allen is keeping the position.
Allen working a defensive guard here.
Loo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Allen is trying to keep Loo in close.
Loo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Allen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Allen is defended easily by Loo.

Loo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Allen to the ground. Loo is now in Allen's guard.
Loo controls from within his opponent's guard.

Loo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Loo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Allen keeping moving, preventing Loo from controlling successfully.
Loo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Allen is keeping the position for now.
Loo sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Allen keeping full guard, as Loo tries to pass.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Allen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Loo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Allen is tightening it up a little... Loo has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Loo reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Loo taps out! Nice BJJ there by Allen!

A less than humble Derrick Allen misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
