The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Lopes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cruz looks to score with a jab to the body but Lopes is just out of range.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lopes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
