Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mathieu David (ranked 3887 p4p, 3224 weight class) and Stu Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redman has chosen Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mathieu David! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from David.
Redman throws out a counter right but David avoids it with no problem. David tries to clinch but Redman moves out of range. Redman getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Redman scores with a takedown into David's guard. Redman cracks David with a solid left hand. Redman lands a couple of elbows. Redman is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Redman preventing the sweep. David looking for a guillotine here but Redman defends easily.
Redman stays in close to David's body and controls the position. David working for a triangle but Redman defends it easily.
Redman is in close to David's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. David escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Redman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Redman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. David looking to control.
Redman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. David pulls Redman in to control the position. Redman landing with the ground and pound. David is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
David is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Redman has managed to free his arm - good work. Redman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Redman is not content to let David control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. David looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
David not landing any meaningful shots this time. David prevents Redman from improving his position. Well, if David is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. David misses with a head shot. Redman uses the momentum to regain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. David trying to control the position from guard on top but Redman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Redman looking to hit a scissor sweep but David is one step ahead there. David throws an elbow that misses. Redman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in David's guard. Nice move by Redman! Redman throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Redman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. David managing to control the position. David is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Redman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Redman throws a big right hand that misses. David had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Redman defends it easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Redman lands a couple of elbows. Redman lands a couple of decent looking shots. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Stu Redman dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Redman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. David is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Redman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Redman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Redman throwing strikes but missing. David has his foot on Redman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redman works his way back into a safe position though. Redman is looking to work some ground and pound but David has wrist control. Redman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Redman got a little sloppy there for a moment and David has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Redman has managed to get both his arms back between David's legs - danger averted. Redman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Redman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Redman looking to sit in guard and control but David gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. David postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. David drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Redman dives on top into guard. Redman connects with a couple of short punches. Redman has been the more effective fighter overall so far. David wants to sweep but no luck. Redman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Redman is sitting in close to David's body. David has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Redman is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Redman is tapping! That was a very nice submission by David.
